About
I have more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and co-occurring mental health needs. My work spans residential care, crisis intervention, counseling, ABA program development, and large-scale behavioral health leadership. I hold dual licensure as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University.
I previously served as Director of Behavioral Health Services at Lufkin State Supported Living Center, where I led a team of 23 and oversaw care for more than 300 individuals. Today, I provide behavioral consultation and counseling through Donna Almeida Counseling and my own practice, Choices Behavioral Health of East Texas. I am committed to providing respectful, data-informed, and person-centered care for clients across the lifespan.
