Do you need an RBT certification to apply?
No! Along with certified RBTs, we also hire people who are eligible but have not tested yet.
If you are already RBT certified
Apply to any open role. Have your BACB certificant ID and your supervisor's contact ready, and expect one interview with the practice. If you are certified and moving to one of our states, apply before you move and we will line up the timing.
If you are RBT eligible but not yet certified
You are eligible if you are 18 or older, have a high school diploma or higher, and can pass a background check. You still need the 40-hour training, a competency assessment, and the exam. Tell us where you are in that process when you apply.
How to get your RBT certification
The BACB requires four things: the 40-hour training, a competency assessment signed off by a BCBA, a background check, and a passing exam score. Most people finish in one to three months.

What does an RBT do all day?
You deliver one-on-one ABA therapy to one child at a time, following a treatment plan written by a BCBA, and you record data on how the child responds. Most of the day is spent on the floor with a child, plus driving between clients and writing session notes.
How much do RBTs make?
Pay varies by state, by whether you are certified, and by how many hours you are scheduled. Every role on this page lists its own range. [VERIFY]
Do I need to be certified before I apply?
No. We hire certified RBTs and people who are RBT eligible but have not tested yet. Tell us where you are in the process when you apply.
How long does it take to get RBT certified?
Most people finish in one to three months. You need a 40-hour training course, a competency assessment signed by a BCBA, a background check, and a passing exam score.
Is being an RBT a good career?
It is a strong entry point into behavior analysis, especially if you want to become a BCBA. It is also demanding work with real downsides around driving, cancellations, and schedule stability, which is why we wrote a whole section on them above.
What is the difference between an RBT and a BCBA?
An RBT delivers therapy directly and needs a high school diploma plus certification. A BCBA designs the treatment plan, supervises RBTs, and needs a master's degree plus supervised fieldwork. Most BCBAs started as RBTs.
Do you have part-time RBT jobs?
Yes. Many RBTs work afternoons and early evenings around school schedules or their own coursework. Tell us your availability when you apply and we will match against it.
